QUEENA BERGEN
Queena Bergen is on a mission to become one of the influential voices in performance poetry. Turning colorful personal narratives into an epigrammatic style of rhythmic stories about the determination, perseverance, and grit she utilized to follow her dreams. Born and raised in Franklin Township, NJ she has been writing and performing spoken word since she was 8 years old. Years later, her powerful use of the craft is still being recognized by institutions across the world.
Queena was a part of the Emmy award-winning public service campaign “Black History is Our History” on CBS, a featured performer at the USA Pavilion during Expo 2020 Dubai, and winner of the Day Job to Dream Job promotion sponsored by prAna. In the Fall of 2019, she was paid to quit her job to become a professional artist. Ever since she's aimed to create work that promotes healthy dialogue and social change.
